I Brake for Interviews
Welcome to the official web home of IN THE TANK CINCINNATI, a television program produced by a sometimes bubble-blowing filmmaker who has the ability to chew gum, drive and shoot video at the same time (that’s me, Robert Parish reaping the benefits of five pieces of Super Bubble, to the left).
Yes, I love driving around (even with gas prices the way they are) looking for, finding and recording images and interviews of people, places, and attractions that are unknown to most everyone who lives in our area.
Someone once said the stories I produce are “under the radar.” A good description, even though I have no electronic tracking devices or GPS in my mobile studio (currently a 1996 SAAB 9000 Turbo).
IN THE TANK CINCINNATI began its life back in 1987, when I was fortunate enough to be Al Schottelkotte’s Producer at WCPO-TV (Channel 9 in Cincinnati). Al had departed the anchor desk and was reassigned to provide three “soft features” a week for the 6 o’clock newscast. Living and working in Greater Cincinnati his entire life, Al knew every nook and cranny. He’d had enough of “hard news,” and the “Spotlight Reports” were a relief for both him and the viewers of Channel 9.
So, we joyously spent our days and nights digging up stories that no other station would touch. The result was an award-winning collaboration, which built the foundation for our current, half-hour, twice monthly program.
For more about Al Schottelkotte, past and future, check out the “Al S” link at the top of the page.
Thanks for hitting the brakes and stopping by our IN THE TANK CINCINNATI website.
   Greater Cincinnati’s only locally-focused,
locally-produced television documentary series.
